Discussing cooperation measures to promote technological exchange and
establish networks between the two countries
The INNOBIZ Association is stepping up to support INNOBIZ companies in expanding into global markets and strengthening their networks based on innovative technologies.
The INNOBIZ Association (Chairman: Kwang-Chun Chung, Korea Association of Innovative Technology SMEs) announced that it held a "Business Roundtable with Leading Japanese Companies" on Tuesday, March 18, at its headquarters in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.
This meeting was organized to enhance the technological competitiveness of INNOBIZ companies and expand their global networks by collaborating with Japanese leading innovative firms amid intensifying global technological competition.
The meeting was attended by 12 representatives from the association, including President Kwang-Chun Chung, ENTITECH CEO Yong-Duk Kim, ANYTEKSYS CEO Sa-hyuk Hong, HYUNWOONG DESIGN CEO Myung-Hwa Lee, Sustainable Growth Institute CEO Kyung-Soo Shin, SCHOLAS CEO Sun-Chul Kim, ZYX TECHNOLOGY Director Hyun-Seok Choi, and ASEIC Secretary General Seok-Tae Lee.
On the Japanese side, five representatives attended, including Takuno Yoshida, Director for Income Tax Policy of Tax Bureau of the Ministry of Finance; Otoya Miyahara, Procurement Manager at Hitachi Global Life Solutions, Ltd.; Takeo Nakamura, Financial Planning Group Leader at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.; Akiko Nishimura, Planning Director at Asahi Kasei Corporation; and Tamon Akiba, Head of the Planning Department at Toray Industries, Inc..
During the meeting, the INNOBIZ Association introduced the significance and excellence of INNOBIZ companies, highlighting their efforts to expand R&D and global outreach. The association also shared its key initiatives to support and nurture INNOBIZ companies.
Chairman Kwang-Chun Chung emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, "The total export volume of INNOBIZ companies amounts to $29.3 billion, accounting for approximately 26% of the total exports of small and medium-sized enterprises. Among INNOBIZ export companies, about 12% are engaged in exchanges with Japan. The association will continue to develop various measures to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation between INNOBIZ companies and Japanese firms."
Meanwhile, the association opened the Smart Factory Training Center in Indonesia in December last year and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA in January this year to collaborate on entering the North American market. Through these initiatives, the INNOBIZ association is expanding innovation-based cooperation programs and actively supporting the globalization of INNOBIZ companies.
